Los Angeles, CA – Greek (Athens) actress Louiza Zouzias, best known to Greek audiences for her breakthrough performance in the critically acclaimed short film “Madonna Calls Fassbinder” directed by multiple award-winning writer/director Dimitri Athantis, has just signed a multifaceted production deal with U.S. based Independent Feature Film and Distribution company Samaco Films to star in the upcoming psychological thriller titled “Stockholm”.

The deal includes an exclusive financing and distribution package virtually insuring worldwide distribution throughout North America and all International Territories based on Samaco Films’ significantly successful track record financing and distributing independent feature films globally.

Zouzias, who has written the screenplay and will play the lead role of “Anne” is an accomplished actress who graduated from the Neo-Hellenic Theater Conservatory in Athens where she was awarded one of the conservatory’s highest honors, “The National Hellenic Award of Excellency” for her riveting portrayal of Hecuba in “The Trojan Women” by Euripides.

Stockholm tells a spellbinding tale that explores the age old question of Nature vs. Nurture. How much of who we are is brought out of our mother’s womb? How much of our life experience has a ripple effect into who we ultimately become? A real person? A wrong person? A monster?

The film is currently in the late stages of development and is slated to enter into pre-production as early as December of 2016.  It is expected to begin principle photography in the early winter months of January and February in the back woods of Utah to capture the snow-covered essence of the story as well as taking advantage of the attractive state tax incentives.

The filmmakers are currently interviewing several prospective awards winning niche directors and will be entering into the principle-casting phase by the end of this year.

When asked why he was attracted to this film the owner of Samaco Films, Executive Producer Franco Sama, who has executive produced over 20 successful independent movies and made films starring the likes of such notable stars as Gary Oldman, Thora Birch, Christian Slater, Dane Cook, Kathleen Quinlan, Chris Klein, David Arquette, Vivica A. Fox, Lance Henriksen and Brittany Snow responded by saying, “ I was immediately drawn to the core of the story illuminated by the brilliant writing, which of course, propels everything else forward.

He went on to add, “Louiza Zouzias is not only one of the most gifted actors I have known but her producing prowess is equally remarkable.”

Stockholm serves as the quintessential example of how a quiet, seductive and minimalistic independent thriller should approach its’ audience and could be poised to become the ultimate contemporary film noir destined to drive a broad and eclectic demographic of moviegoers into theaters in 2017.
